Too much like the original,,,

It's a good track, but it sounds like a karaoke version of the original...

You should've put in the vocals or something... This was my favorite song from Pokemon back in the day...

Jebbal responds:

Respect bro, but I'd have to disagree. There is quite a large difference between the original song and my version.

And ya I tried to extract the lyrics from the original song but couldn't do it :(. And I couldn't find it online either.

Thanks for the review!

It was alright

The melody and everything was good, but I think using Slayer was a mistake... It made the song sound fake, and that's not a good thing... The production was good considering.

Strong

Very peaceful, you really gave trance a good name with this song. I however am a little disappointed with the lack of a decent melody... Sounds like a bunch of chord progressions, and I think a good melody would REALLY put the icing on this cake.

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Trance seems to break the rules often with melodies. You can have almost any form of melody. Arpeggios chord progression etc.

alright

Not a bad demo, pretty tight as far as melodies and harmonies go. That said, production could use a little work...

The fill kick around :48 is way to loud, try puting some hard compression on that.

The synth is a little piercing, you might want to smooth that out and EQ the highs down...

Add more variation, please? The song gets repetitive after a while...

Overall, needs m00r EQ. Play around with FL Studios Parametric EQ (2!!!) until you can master it. Then know the key items: High quality synths hardly need any EQing, just tweeks to conform the song. Other samples you usually want to hype up their strong frequencies (Bass, mids, and highs), add some compression, and THEN tweek as normal.

Terror-Proof responds:

Cheers man im rally gonna take that all in to consideration

OK then

Well, as far as production goes, the arp could use some work. It needs a hardcore synth in there somewhere...

As far as originality goes, you win. Never have I heard a song quite like this one. 9/10 ONLY because it sounds somewhat empty...

DJ-Infinity responds:

I wouldnt know what to add to be honest, it all sounds ok to me. But i do respect that you feel this is a bit empty, although I have tried to make it as full as possible while remaining hard and trancy. Ill have to think about it =)

Thanks for ur review!

It was pretty good

As much of a fan I am of 303 synths and Acid sounds, this one hit me funny. I like the idea, and the sound was alright for the most part. The kick was waaaay too loud for this type of song, more of a punch kick would have been better. Overall, nice soundscape, decent instrument quality, so my biggest issue would be EQ.

Beautiful

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I hope you and your friends can find peace that your loved one can finally find happiness wherever they are. This song is a very beautiful composition, I can definently hear the pain in there.

As far as critiquing this song (not that I really want to, it's a really bad habit of mine...), I think some of the choice synths could be better to really give this song the respect it deserves.

Props man, and high respect from me!

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Yeah, I've improved alot since then I know a few things I could change.

303 2 da MAX

Yep, you won me over: Perfect soundscape, enough variation, nice use of effects, you know your stuff man. I'm a big big fan of 303 synths so you pretty much got me from the get go.

Nice loop

I like the feel for this loop, but but it's a bit repetitive, not enough variation... I would love to hear a nice smooth lead somewhere in there, playing a very melodic tune.

Excellent song, I enjoyed a lot!

Very nice, I enjoyed this a lot! Reasoning behind why I gave you a 9/10 is because I think the overall compression is a bit much, I'd be able to enjoy this 100% if that compression was eased off a bit, but that's just IMO. Overall, very good!
